NM VI. I will try different initials as Bill suggested.

I did extensive testing of NM V and NM VI on all the datasets and models
that I was able to find, and there was no difference in the results (OF
and the fit; I have not looked on ETA p-values) for the FOCEI (for runs
that converged). Unstable models sometimes stopped at different places,
but the fit was similar or identical.
If you had stable model in NM V, try to re-run it in NM V again: it
could be that you changed the dataset somehow. For NM VI, try to use
SLOW option at the estimation step, it should reproduce NM V results.
It would help if you post NM V and NM6 output (error messages if any)
