New Member of Pharmacometrics R&D group, Icon Development Solutions

Icon Development Solutions is pleased to announce that Robert J. Bauer Ph.D will be joining the Pharmacometrics R&D group in the first quarter, 2008 as Vice-President of Pharmacometrics. He has been with Xoma (US) LLC since 1992, most recently as Senior Director, Department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Bioinfomatics. Dr. Bauer developed the S-ADAPT program, a version of ADAPT II that contains an augmented interface as well as additional simulation and optimization abilities. S-ADAPT utilizes the computational engine of ADAPT II release 4, developed and made available by David D'Argenio and Alan Schumitzky, Biomedical Simulations Resources (BMSR) Department, University of Southern California. Dr. Bauer plans to introduce state-of-the-art estimation methods into the NONMEM software package, developed by Stuart L. Beal, Lewis B. Sheiner, and Alison Boeckmann, The NONMEM Project Group, University of California, San Francisco. In addition, his experience in development of PK/PD models, statistics, and computational techniques will expand the ability of Icon Development Solutions to assist clients with Modeling and Simulation Projects that are increasingly a part of the drug development process.
