Dear Colleague, find enclosed information about two courses on PKPD Data Analysis: Concepts and Applications organized by the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. For further information, please contact Dr. Erik Ahlsén at <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [EMAIL PROTECTED] or Science programme manager Julie Churchill at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Best regards, Johan Gabrielsson The http://www.lakemedelsakademin.se/templates/kurs/kurstillfalle.aspx?kId=2619&id=2620 15th Intermediate Workshop on Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Data Analysis - A Hands-on Course Using WinNonlin October 12-16, 2008 Barcelona The Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences will organize this 4-day intermediate level workshop in Barcelona, October 12-16, 2008. The workshop will cover topics such as non-linear regression, assessment of goodness-of-fit, pharmacodynamic modeling and experimental design and comparison of models. The program consists of lectures as well as hands-on exercises on real-life case studies under supervision of experienced teachers. Participants will also be given the opportunity of bringing their own data for the exercises. Lecturers Dr Johan Gabrielsson, Senior Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal, Sweden. He is, along with Dr. Daniel Weiner, co-author of the book "Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Data Analysis: Concepts & Applications 4th edition". Dr. Daniel Weiner is Senior Vice President at Pharsight Corporation and co-developer of WinNonlin. He has lead numerous workshops on PK/PD data analysis. More information and venue to be announced soon! http://www.lakemedelsakademin.se/templates/kurs/kurstillfalle.aspx?kId=2621&id=2622 The 10th Advanced Level Workshop on Pharmacokinetic /Pharmacodynamic Data analysis - A Hands-on Course Using WinNonlin May 18-22, 2008 Madingley Hall, Cambridge, UK The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences are pleased to announce this advanced workshop, which provides an interface between the computer analysis of PK and PD data and physiological concepts. Steady-state, link, receptor on/off and turnover (indirect response) models. Modelling reversible and irreversible responses. Functional adaptation, tolerance and rebound. Disease models. Multiple dose and subjects PD data. Dichotomous data. Based on the background and concepts provided by the course lecturers, delegates will apply this information during hands-on sessions. A unique feature of the course is the access to the computer package to undertake hands-on exercises on real-life case studies and availability of course tutors to help in problem solving. Lecturers The course will be led by Dr Johan Gabriesson, Senior Principle Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal and Dr Dan Weiner, Senior Vice President, Pharsight Corp. The course leaders are authors of the highly popular 4th edition of PKPD Data Analysis: Concepts and Applications, Swedish Pharmaceutical Press, 2006. A full programme and information on how to register will follow. For pre-registration please contact Julie Churchill, Science Programme Manager at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or on 0044 (0)20 7572 2261.
