NONMEM hands-on workshop 21 to 25 May 2007, Aix-en-Provence, France

EMF Consulting is pleased to announce that the Workshop to be held on 21 to 25 May 2007 is open for registration. Registrations are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. This course is based on the NONMEM manuals, tutorials and varied workshops run previously. Minimum theoretical lectures are given to allow a naive NONMEM user to perform the exercises during the practical hands-on sessions. The course is directed at pharmacokineticists, clinical pharmacologists, and statisticians in pharmaceutical research. We'll accept up to 10 trainees only. English is the course language, EMF site is non-smoking and fully accessible. Prerequisites: Basic understanding of PK, PKPD and clinical statistics. Instructors: Eliane Fuseau, PhD, and Olivier Petricoul, PhD. Agenda Lectures/ Discussion themes (~16 hours) Day 1 Basic concepts of pharmacokinetic modelling, introduction to population modelling, strategy for drug development (why and when), use in market application (what). Day 2 Modelling and precision, sources of variability, NMTRAN control records, examples. Day 3 NONMEM modelling strategy and documentation (protocol, analysis plan, report), design, databases, constraints, diagnostics, model selection, conditional estimation. Day 4/5 PK, PKPD modelling (continuous and ordered categorical data), simulations. Hands-on (~24 hours): starts on day 2, alternating with lectures. Full problems are resolved and interpreted including PK and PKPD modelling in individuals and in populations, exploring covariates, PKPD simulations. PKPD exercises include blood pressure, QT data, and pain severity scores. NONMEM is used on PCs with the interface Visual- NM, for easy tables and graphs.
