The value of LWS1, the parameter defining the size of working space 1, is dependent on the maximum number of parameters, defined in variables LVR, LTH and LPAR. Usually the default value of 35000 is large enough, but you may need to increase this when using a very large number of parameters. NONMEM issues an error message to let you know when you've exceeded the default value. Details for defining the size are included as comments in ...\nmv\nm\chkpar.for.
Changing this value should not improve RAM utilization.
