Interspecies scaling

We aim to be able to extrapolate pharmacokinetic parameters and predict plasma and tissue levels across species for a certain dose. I have been searching for references but I haven't found much. Is anybody aware of publications dealing with the application of mixed effects modeling to interspecies scaling of PK parameters. On the other hand, I would appreciate your suggestions on modeling strategies to conduct an study like this using NONMEM. Thanks much.
